Heart-warming winter meal with Coles Mum’s Sause

Try this simple pasta dish using Coles Mum’s Sause to warm your heart and your belly. It’s sure to please everyone on a cold winter’s day. For each jar of Mum’s Sause sold, 50 cents will be donated to the Curing Homesickness initiative to help sick kids in hospital across Australia.

Sausage & Mushroom Pasta

Serves: 4

Prep time: 10 min

Cook time: 15 min

Ingredients

375g pasta shells

500g Coles No Added Hormones Australian Beef Sausage with Herbs & Garlic, castings removed

200g cup mushrooms, sliced

500g jar Mum’s Sause Bolognese

60g packet Coles Australian baby spinach

Flat-leaf parsley leaves, to serve

Shaved parmesan, to serve

Method

  1. Cook the pasta in a large saucepan of boiling water following packet directions or until al dente. Drain.
  2. Meanwhile, heat a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook, stirring with a wooden spoon to break into lumps, for 5 mins or until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Add mushrooms to the pan. Cook, stirring, for 3-4 mins or until mushrooms are tender. Add Mum’s Sause. Bring to a simmer. Stir in the spinach. Remove from heat. Season.
  4. Add the pasta to the sauce mixture. Toss to combine. Sprinkle with parsley and parmesan.
